Debut of SERC/GSC Junior Expert Class
CycleYouth staff Shey Lindner has been working tirelessly building the foundation for our new Jr Ex class.  This is a very important step for athletic development in the Southeast.
Two major accomplishments are that junior expert racers can both race with the local pros and also race a junior World Cup distance. [more]

SERC/ US Cup #1
The debut of the Jr Ex class was a success!  Riders lined up right behind the pros and quickly found their place.  Designated black number plates distinguished them from the other racers and helps riders keep things sorted during the race. Jansen was the favorite to win the race, but anything can happen and so did not 4 minutes into the race when Jansen hit a sign post and damaged his gear enough to take him out of contention. Luke, Adam and Elliott ended the day in the lead.
The Sport Jr class saw new faces as well, and the field still strong as ever despite several of last year's contenders moving up to expert. Matt Fitzgerald too top honors there.
In the base class CycleYouth had their own new faces from new and old DEVO league teams.

Southeast Bike Expo, Feb 24-25
CycleYouth had a great and productive time at the Expo.  In charge of the swap meet, giving "Stan's" clinics and meet-n-greets with sponsors the group stayed busy.  The SEBX was a great success and will be a great way to start the bike season for years to come [more]

CY Team News
CycleYouth DEVO has been active in expanding the racing classes in the southeast.  We have seen the addition of a well-attended Junior Sport class and are now in need of a Junior Expert class for 2012.  The 11-14 and 15-18 (beginner distance) classes are still the largest junior fields
All the junior classes seem to be growing and we want to support the events and racers to continue this trend.
